Joyous Work was founded in 2024 by John Rizzo, a strategy and customer leader with more than two decades of experience across organisations of all sizes. From start-ups and not-for-profits to large, complex organisations such as ANZ Bank and Bupa Asia Pacific, John has worked inside systems of work at every scale.

Through this experience, he saw the consistent pattern that while technology transformed how people can collaborate, the practices organisations use to organise work have barely changed. Many were designed for a slower, more predictable world —

and now quietly create friction, waste, and burnout. Joyous Work was founded on the belief that the next leap in productivity will come from modernising how work is organised, not from asking people to work harder.
